On May 28, 2025, St. Charles Medical Foundation (SCMF) hosted an inspiring menstrual hygiene awareness event in Ndobo, Douala, where over 50 girls and women gathered to learn, share, and break the stigma surrounding menstruation.

World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025
A Day of Learning and Empowerment
The event, held on World Menstrual Hygiene Day, provided crucial education, free sanitary products, and a safe space for open discussions empowering participants with knowledge and confidence.

The event kicked off with a welcome speech highlighting the importance of menstrual health, followed by interactive and later small group sessions covering:
- Female reproductive health and the menstrual cycle
- Proper hygiene practices to prevent infections
- Managing menstrual discomfort naturally
- Breaking myths and reducing stigma through open dialogue
Participants engaged in group discussions, Q&A sessions, and fun educational games, reinforcing key lessons in an engaging way. At the end of the program, each girl received a gift pack of sanitary products, ensuring they could apply what they learned immediately as needed.
