Why your Donation Matters

I am incredibly proud to be the Founder & CEO of Saint Charles Medical Foundation located in Bonaberi, Douala Cameroon and I am delighted to have you on our site. Our foundation is registered both in Cameroon and the United Kingdom.
Our charity services are open to Cameroonians who need help in different ways ranging from free medical care to educational support and beyond. We hope to expand our charity services to as many African countries as possible depending on available funding.
Approximately 1.3 million Cameroonians are displaced due to the ongoing conflict in the southern regions of the country, about 200,000 Cameroonians are homeless, 169,000 children dropped out of school in 2023, increased maternal and foetal death rates due to limited access to healthcare services, and thousands of Cameroonians are unable to afford healthcare fees.
The above-mentioned situations have now escalated because of the anglophone crisis that has lasted for over eight years.
Saint Charles Medical Foundation’s objectives are varied yet entirely medical with the overall aim of transforming lives through the provision of access to free medical care including surgeries, return to school support and many more.
Our focus is on the following main donation strands which the trustees identified as the gaps in current provision.
Charity Program
1. Medical Assistance (a). Provision of access to free medical treatment for Cameroonians at SCMF for those in financial hardship and where the treatment would be life-enhancing together with other financial assistance for medical purposes.
2. Medical Assistance (b). Requests for a wide range of medical support and equipment are awarded on a case-by-case basis.
3. Mobility aids. Supporting those who suffer from diseases that affect their mobility in both their recreational and rehabilitation needs by providing support where financial constraints do not allow the private purchase of mobility aids.
4. Assisting displaced families. due to the conflict to return to school and gain access to medical services.
However, this is not to say that we’ve identified them all, and so the foundation is willing and ready to look at cases that are not within the main domains mentioned above.
Our goal is to help as many less privileged people as we can but not, by so doing jeopardize our ability to help many more people in the future.
As Chief Executive, I can promise our donors that, every money donated will be spent on our beneficiaries and not used for administration. We can be creative in how we support our beneficiaries and welcome interactions and challenges from both donors and those we assist.
To our existing supporters, I say thank you. To our prospective supporters, I ask you to join us in this humanitarian work we do and change lives. You can contact us to learn more about what we do and to make a real difference
Thank you for your support.
