Ajang Kingsley explains how Saint Charles Medical Foundation’s plumbing training is helping him rebuild after displacement and work toward independence, family support, and community service in Kumba, Cameroon.
Training: Plumbing
Programme: Youth Vocational Training Programme

My name is Ajang Kingsley, from Kumba the South West Region of Cameroon, and I am an Internally Displaced Person from the North West Region of Cameroon. The Anglophone crisis forced my family and me to flee our home, leaving behind everything we had worked for. Life became extremely difficult, and like many young people affected by the conflict, I lost the chance to continue my education or learn a skill that could help me build a stable future.
\nI applied for the plumbing training programme because I wanted to learn a practical skill that would allow me to rebuild my life with dignity. Plumbing is a trade that is always needed, especially in communities where water and sanitation challenges have worsened due to the crisis. By learning this skill, I hope to earn an income, support my family, and contribute positively to my community.
\nBeing selected by Saint Charles Medical Foundation has given me renewed hope. This opportunity means more than just training. It is a chance to rise above the hardship caused by the civil war and work toward a better future.
\nI am deeply grateful to SCMF for supporting displaced youths like me and giving us the opportunity to learn, grow, and transform our lives.
Support more lives through Saint Charles Medical Foundation.
