Ntahmbomenyi Prosper shares how Saint Charles Medical Foundation’s vocational training support gave him a practical path toward mechanics, self-reliance, and a future where he can support his family in Baba I, Cameroon.
Training: Mechanics
Programme: Youth Vocational Training Programme

My name is Ntahmbomenyi Prosper, I am 17 years old and come from Baba I village in the North West Region of Cameroon. I am the second child in a family of five, raised by my mother, who is my only living parent. I lost my father when I was just 10 years old, and since then my mother has carried the full responsibility of raising us alone.
\nAs a small-scale farmer, my mother struggled to earn enough to send me and my siblings to school or to help us learn a skill. We worked with her on the farm, supported by my grandmother, just to ensure we had food to eat. The ongoing civil war made our situation even more difficult, leaving us with very limited opportunities.
\nWhen I heard about the Saint Charles Medical Foundation (SCMF) Vocational Training Programme, I applied and was blessed to be selected. I am now undergoing a two-year training in Mechanics, a skill that is giving me hope and a real chance to change my life and support my family.
\nThis opportunity is not just for me. It is for my entire family. SCMF has greatly impacted my life. When I graduate and start my own workshop, I plan not only to support my mother and siblings but also to employ and train other young people in my community.
\nI am truly grateful to SCMF for giving me this opportunity and restoring hope in my future.
Support more lives through Saint Charles Medical Foundation.
