Saint Charles Medical Foundation is a registered charity in Cameroon and the United Kingdom. We go deep into communities that hospitals rarely reach, and we help people who live with poverty, illness, and distance from care. In Mokundange, that mission became a full day of free medical services for families who need them most.

We worked with the Buea University Medical Students Association (BMSA) and local health partners. Doctors and volunteers gave consultations, screening, dental care, health education, and free medicines at one location in the community.

Prevention first

Health education and community awareness

The team held a health education session for residents of Mokundange. Community members learned why personal hygiene, clean water, and daily habits protect the whole family.

The session also covered sexually transmitted diseases. The team explained prevention, early signs, and why fast medical care matters. Residents asked questions freely, and the team answered in clear, simple language.

Care close to home

Free medical consultations for every patient

Doctors and medical students gave free consultations to community members. Each patient was examined, listened to, and given clear medical advice and a treatment plan.

These consultations find health problems early. They also remove two common barriers to care in rural Fako Division: cost and travel. No patient paid a fee, and no patient travelled far.

Oral health

Free dental care and teeth cleaning

The campaign provided free dental examinations and professional teeth cleaning. Many residents had never seen a dentist before this day.

The dental team showed correct brushing methods and explained how good oral hygiene protects general health. Quality dental care became available in the community, not only in the city.

Early detection

Vital signs assessment before treatment

Medical students and volunteers checked vital signs before each consultation. They measured blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and other basic indicators.

These simple checks identify risks such as high blood pressure early, when treatment works best. The service was free for every person who attended.
